Carol Gilligan is a groundbreaking psychologist and scholar whose landmark book In a Different Voice transformed the study of girls, women, and moral development by introducing the ethic of care. She taught for more than 30 years at Harvard, where she was the first Graham Professor of Gender Studies, and is now a University Professor at New York University. Named by Time as one of the 25 most influential Americans, she continues to write and teach, with recent work including In a Human Voice and the forthcoming novel Solstice.
